Indigo Dye Workshop

March 24th,   1pm - 5pm

You are invited to an unique event that will teach you the timeless art of indigo dying. In this workshop you’ll learn the centuries-old process.  You’ll get hands on experience on how to make your own dye vat starting with a stock solution as well as caring for and sustaining your vat for the future.  We will be using Michele Garcia’s famous 1-2-3 recipe.  Each student is limited to bring a 1 - 2 small items to dye in the vats (something equivalent to two t-shirts).  These items need to be 100% all-natural fibers like hemp, wool, silk, cotton, etc.  Examples of acceptable dyeables that can be brought are t-shirts, tea towels, socks, small clothing items, yarn, etc.  Please, NO bed sheets or similar large items. You’ll leave the workshop knowing how to make, use and maintain your own indigo vat while getting amazing dye goods to take home!  No experience necessary. The workshop has very limited spots available so please email: to reserve your space.
